    Blocked Drains Services from Scanseal

How do you know when your drains are blocked?

If your drain is blocked you usually know because your waste will stop flowing away when you flush the toilet, or gullies outside will overflow.  There will also probably be a smell.  Private drains/sewers are the responsibility of the owner-occupier and any other properties connected to it.

    • Drains may become blocked because they are in poor physical condition
    • Drains may be in good condition but non dissolveables such as disposable nappies or plastic bags may have been flushed down the toilet
    • Disposal of cooking fats and oils, along with other domestic products and DIY materials such as plaster can cause the blockage of pipework
    • Tree roots entering a broken drain and bad joints can also be the cause of the problem

How can Scanseal unblock my drains?

Scanseal based in Surrey have several methods to unblock drains, including conventional drain rods and high pressure water jetting equipment.

In the unlikely event that we are unable to unblock your drains, we would give you the option for Scanseal to carry out a CCTV drain survey to ascertain the problem and pinpoint the reason for the blockage.

A full report and colour DVD will be provided along with a quotation to rectify the fault.

How long does it take to unblock a drain?

A normal household blockage with no major problems discovered should only take between 30-60 minutes to clear.

After 30 minutes our on-site engineer will be able to evaluate the problem and advise the customer if any additional time will be needed to remedy the fault.

How can I help to prevent blockages?

Remember that non-dissolveable products will not break down and flow away and these will eventually cause your system to backup.  Never flush anything but toilet tissue down your toilet.

Always keep gully grilles clean and clear of leaves and debris.

Never empty fat, grease or DIY materials down your sink.

Scanseal are able to offer programmed annual maintenance to clean and remove scale from your drainage systems.  We also carry out routine drainage CCTV inspections.
